Understanding Human Rights

By: Desk || Date: 19 Nov 20

Human rights are the basic rights and freedoms that belong to every person in the world. These rights are universal, meaning they apply to all people regardless of their nationality, religion, gender, or background. The main purpose of human rights is to ensure that every individual can live with dignity, freedom, and equality.

The global recognition of human rights grew stronger after the tragedies of the World War II. To protect people from future abuses, the United Nations introduced the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948.

Human rights include important freedoms such as the right to life, freedom of expression, access to education, and protection from discrimination. These rights allow people to participate in society and pursue better opportunities.

While many nations support these principles, human rights violations still occur in different parts of the world. Therefore, governments, organizations, and individuals must continue working together to protect and promote human rights for everyone.
